FAQ's

What is a battery-powered rivet tool?

A battery-powered rivet tool is a cordless tool used to set blind rivets. It uses a powerful battery to process rivets quickly and effortlessly, without the need for external compressed air or cables. This makes it particularly flexible to use – in industrial production as well as on construction sites or in workshops. With the exception of the AccuBird®, all GESIPA® battery-powered rivet tools are equipped with the powerful batteries from the CAS alliance. GESIPA® offers a range of battery-powered rivet tools for setting blind rivets. The right rivet tool can be found depending on the application and technical requirements.

How long does the battery last in a battery-powered rivet tool?

The battery life of a GESIPA® battery-powered rivet tool depends on the battery capacity used and the type of riveting process. The tools are supplied as standard with 2.0 Ah batteries, while more powerful 4.0 Ah batteries are available as accessories. In addition, all Metabo CAS battery packs from 2.0 Ah to 10.0 Ah are compatible, so that you can be sure of achieving the optimum runtime for your needs. The GESIPA® catalogue contains guidelines for the number of setting processes that can be performed per battery charge for a range of different rivet types. Thanks to the CAS system, users benefit from flexible use and high efficiency – a future-proof battery concept for maximum performance and cost-effectiveness.

How long does it take to charge a battery-powered rivet tool?

The charging time of a GESIPA® battery-powered rivet tool depends on the battery capacity and the charger used. With the standard 18V charger, the charging time is approximately 40 minutes for a 2.0 Ah battery and 80 minutes for a 4.0 Ah battery. For faster charging cycles, Metabo's CAS system also includes quick chargers that further reduce charging time. This means that the battery-powered rivet tool is always ready for use and downtime is minimised. Thanks to the flexible CAS battery technology, users benefit from efficient working and high availability – ideal for use in industry and trade.

What should I look out for when buying a battery-powered rivet tool?

A high-quality battery-powered rivet tool should be powerful, durable and versatile. Check whether it is compatible with different battery sizes to adjust runtimes to your needs. A brushless motor offers advantages such as a longer service life and high efficiency. The GESIPA® battery-powered rivet tools in the Bird Pro® series or the Birdie® are equipped with BLDC motors. The tool stroke and maximum setting force are also crucial to ensure that the tool is suitable for your applications. Comfortable ergonomics and a low weight also make working easier, especially for longer bits. In this case, the Birdie® is the right choice as the smallest and lightest battery-powered rivet tool in its performance class. Those who rely on a future-proof battery system also benefit from more flexibility and lower operating costs. As part of the CAS Battery Alliance, batteries can be used flexibly and across different manufacturers with different tools.
